King Lear (Shakespeare) : Sight and Vision
Dissertation - Anglais - 4 pages - Format Microsoft Word
The pathetic and violent Shakespeare’s tragedy King Lear is built on two plots, which evolve in parallel until they cross when the two father figures meet in Act IV. Though before distinct, the main and subplot have great similarities: the two men have loyal and disloyal children, both are blind to the truth, both eventually realize their mistakes and redeem their faults.
This progression from error to atonement will make us wondering about the dialectic of the play between sight and vision.
