The role of pressure groups
Exposé - Anglais - 3 pages - Format Microsoft Word
A pressure group can be described as an organised group that does not put up candidates for election, but seeks to influence government policy or legislation. It also seeks to influence the decisions made by those who manage firms. They can also be described as “interest groups”, “lobby groups” or “protest groups”. There is no denying that the role of lobbies is vital in ensuring that firms behave an ethical way. Nonetheless, this role could be qualified because many firms do not follow a code of conducts (sustainable development, social responsibility...).
Plan du document :
1. The lobbying allows the firms to behave an ethical way
2. A genuine sensibility or a marketing strategy ?
