This text is an extract of the play Romeo and Juliet written by Shakespeare in 1595. This text corresponds to Act II, sc.2. After the bal the Capulets gave, Romeo hid himself in their garden. When Juliet appears to the window, at night, Romeo and Juliet declare their love. This scene is very famous, and is in verse whereas the others are in prose. It is a scene a faire: we learn that they are going to get married. This text can be divided into three parts: First, we will see the importance of the background; then the declaration of love, and finally the doomed love. There is a main theme emerging from this text: it is the love included into a tragic plot because of the two families in conflict.
