The identity of Great Britain
Dissertation - Anglais - 5 pages - Format Microsoft Word
On the threshold of the 21st century, it may be asserted that to define the identity of Great Britain because Great Britain is a complex territory with a specific history. To answer this wide-ranging issue, we should first consider the evolution of the founding role held by the royal power in the construction of the British identity, between the 16th-17th centuries and now ; to analyse, secondly, that "Britain was never a nation", according to N. Davies and A. Barnett, only because the British people were never united. Finally, it would be interesting to extrapolate on the stakes of "devolution" for the British identity, but also to understand the complexity, which follows from this, to identify Great Britain.
