The role of Multinational compagnies in agriculture in Europe
Dissertation - Anglais - 5 pages - Format Microsoft Word
The twenty-first century is the era of globalisation and multinational companies. In our occidental consumerist societies, nearly everything we eat, buy and enjoy, that is nearly everything we consume, come from the same ‘large business organisations’. Those operate in a large number of countries, with branches spread throughout the world and with their headquarters in an advanced industrial country : in two words, they are what one calls multinational companies. What does this apparent hegemony and unilateralist behaviour exactly imply ? What impact do multinational companies have on agriculture in Europe and on the different links of the food chain : farmers, retailers, consumers ? Is it possible to oppose oneself to multinational companies and globalisation's hazards, and if so, how ?
Plan du document :
1. The multinational companies and their brands appear to be the most involved and the most important
2. The CAP farmers do not seem to be the ones making the important decisions anymore in the food processing industry
3. MNCs are being beneficial to Europe and its consumers
