Today, listening to the radio is a kind of entertainment you can listen to music, the news... It was like a companion for people who were isolated.
In 1938, on October 30, the American director Or son Welles, adapted the science-fiction novel by H.G. Welles " The War of The Worlds " on the radio. This one tell the invasion on the ground by Martians. Several thousands of people fled from their believing in a real Martian invasion in New Jersey. Orson Welles will be excused in front of all Americes a few days later.
